Here Comes Washer Prints
selling prints to raise money for Juntos
HELLO BUDS
Selling handmade prints of the old Here Comes Washer linocut to raise money for Juntos. "Juntos is a community-led, Latine, immigrant organization in South Philadelphia fighting for our human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants." They provide many resources and services to people navigating the immigration process, an ICE watch hotline, know your rights trainings, youth empowerment programs, and a host of other incredibly meaningful community programs.
It is obvious to me that grassroots, direct community engagement is the only way forward. We can not rely on systems that perpetuate hundreds of years of oppression, re-dressed and re-funded over and over again, while waiting for some savior politician to ascend and set things straight. We have so many examples of this in our lives that get overlooked, yet are the foundation from which everything else can function. You've already experienced this if you're involved in any kind of DIY music or art scene, toured only with the help (and floor space) of kind strangers. It's pointed to often, but the type of anarchism that we naturally fall into after a major event in which you do not hesitate to help your neighbor, organically coordinate group actions, etc. This is the ground our humanity is built on, and I encourage you to prioritize that type of thinking and acting in your life as much as possible.
Prints are $15, blue ink on hand painted 6" x 6" paper. Every one is slightly different, you get what you get :) All proceeds will be donated to Juntos - www.vamosjuntos.org
